MAYOR FRANCIS ZAMORA SUPPORTS A SHIFT TO ALERT LEVEL 1 IN NCR

February 22, 2022

As of today, the City of San Juan only has 28 active cases of COVID-19. This is already a 99% drop from 6 weeks ago wherein we had 1,947 cases during the peak of the surge. Our quarantine facilities are only 3.7% occupied, while our San Juan Medical Center's COVID-19 beds are at 16%. We have already vaccinated 259% of our target population. The regional positivity rate of Metro Manila is down to 5.9% and San Juan is one of 15 cities in the NCR that are currently classified as low risk. Given all of these data, I am in favor of shifting to Alert Level 1 by March 1, 2022, but with each and every one of us following all minimum public health standards for our safety and protection.
