WHEREAS, the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay, prior to him being elected as City Councilor of the City of San Juan, was a Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Greenhills from 2010 up to 2013;

WHEREAS, the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay’s political background and credentials gave him the utmost advantage of serving the City Council of San Juan for three consecutive terms and his last term of duty in the City Council of San Juan will end on June 30, 2022;

WHEREAS, the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay has ably chaired the Committee on Games & Amusement of the 4^th City Council (2013-2016); Committees on Games & Amusement and Public Order, Safety & Illegal Drugs of the 5^h City Council (2016-2019); and Committees on Ways & Means and Urban Poor of the 6^th City Council (2019-2022);

WHEREAS, during his stint in the 6^th City Council of San Juan, the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay has been an effective and efficient representation of the Council to the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL);

WHEREAS, the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay initiated various City Ordinances and projects aimed at supporting the health and welfare of the people, fight against illegal drugs, the protection of the environment, promotion of the City as business friendly and providing medical and financial assistance to his constituents;

WHEREAS, one of his many notable legislations is the San Juan Bicycle Ordinance of 2020 which contributed to the making the City Government as a health and environmentally responsive City;

WHEREAS, the City Government of San Juan congratulates the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay on the fulfillment of his three terms as the City Councilor of the City of San Juan and looks forward to continuing close cooperation and maintaining excellent relations and, likewise, wishing the best for him and to his family thereafter;

WHEREAS, the City Government extends appreciation and best wishes for his exemplary work and his pursuit of excellence in local governance with his clear vision for governance of the development and for his contributions as a public servant over his nine-year stay in the City Council of San Juan;

WHEREAS, the City Council of San Juan, the Sangguniang Secretariat, and the bureaucracy of the City of San Juan are grateful and proud of his invaluable services to the City Government and its constituents and as such, it is but fitting and proper that they appreciate and recognize the same through this Resolution.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of San Juan, in a duly session assembled, to express its profound gratitude and recognition of the invaluable services rendered by the Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay to the City Government of San Juan and its constituents.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copy of this Resolution be furnished to Honorable Councilor Michael Cristopher R. Mathay, City Mayor, all the City Councilors Public Information Department, and all other pertinent government agencies, departments, and/or offices for their information and guidance.
