WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 11463, otherwise known as “Malasakit Centers Act”, the DOH-MMCHD as an office of the DOH has been providing financial and medical assistance to indigent and poor patients in various health facilities through funding drugs and medicines, medical procedures, confinement and other patient care services;
WHEREAS, General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 allocated P 21,361,029,000.00 to DOH for the assistance to Indigent Patients;
WHEREAS, the DOH-MMCHD is authorized to enter into a MOA with the City Government of San Juan pursuant to Administrative Order No. 2020-0060 dated December 23, 2020 “Revised Guidelines on the Implementation of the MAIP Program”;
WHEREAS, the City Government of San Juan is willing to participate in the different and effective grant of medical assistance to indigent patients;
WHEREAS, the City Legal Officer has certified that the MOA is in order and not contrary to existing laws, rules and regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN, AND BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, in a session duly assembled, to authorize the City Mayor Francisco Javier M. Zamora, to enter into a MOA with DOH-MMCHD for the implementation of the MAIP Program with an allocation amount of Ten Million Pesos (P10,000,000.00) as per Sub-Allotment Advice No. 2022-04-1967 dated April 20, 2022.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the authority, issuance and approval hereof is subject to certain restrictions and to all existing laws, circulars, rules and regulations.
