WHEREAS, Mr. Rovic Gene O. Duque is a resident of No. 5-D Road 4, 1st West Crame, Barangay West Crame of this city and the son of Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Sheryl Duque;

WHEREAS, Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad is an event where education brings together young people from all over the globe to apply their skills in challenging and educational math competitions;

WHEREAS, competing against top contestants from around the world, a student from San Juan City Academic Senior High School, Rovic Gene O. Duque won Bronze Medal for high school students in this year’s Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad;

WHEREAS, Mr. Rovic Gene O. Duque is a good role model to other students in the City of San Juan and will motivate them to excel in their studies;

WHEREAS, such feat brings great esteem and prestige to the country especially to the City of San Juan because it shows that students of this city are not behind from their counterparts in the field of academics due to the city government’s commitment of providing quality public education;

WHEREAS, as per City Ordinance No. 4, Series of 2020. Mr. Rovic Gene O. Duque qualifies for the amount of Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000) under the International Category;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of San Juan, Metro Manila in a session duly assembled, to recognize and commend the student of San Juan City Academic Senior High School, Rovic Gene O. Duque for winning 3rd Place (Bronze Medal) at the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad Heat Round 2022 Senior Secondary, High School Division, that gave honor and pride to the City of San Juan and granting his cash incentives as per City Ordinance No. 4 Series of 2020.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copy of this Resolution be given to Mr. Rovic Gene O. Duque and other concerned offices for their information.
