CITY RESOLUTION NO. 120
Series of 2022
WHEREAS, the San Juan City Government adopts the policy of the State to protect and promote the rights of all Filipinos and instill health consciousness among them;
WHEREAS, as home to some of the best specialty hospitals in Metro Manila, it has been the constant policy of the City Government of San Juan to provide health and social services that are available at affordable costs to its residents;
WHEREAS, the City Government of San Juan maintains several programs to accord medical care to qualified indigent and/or deserving patient residents of the City to ensure that the best medical treatment and attention are afforded to them;
WHEREAS, to ensure accessibility and availability of medical services to qualified indigent and/or deserving residents of the City, the City Government has authorized the City Mayor, through City Resolution No. 36, Series of 2021, to enter a contract or Memorandum of Agreement with NKTI for the purpose of allocating funds specially for medical services to ailing residents, indigent and/or deserving patients in the City;
WHEREAS, NKTI is a government hospital in Quezon City with the necessary facilities and equipment to provide the medical services needed by indigent and/or deserving patients requesting assistance and is willing to be partner of the City Government of San Juan in the implementation of this program;
WHEREAS, the City Legal Officer has certified that the MOA is in order and not contrary to existing laws, rules and regulations;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN, AND BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, in a session duly assembled, to authorize the City Mayor Francisco Javier M. Zamora, to enter into a MOA with NKTI for the implementation of the Medical Assistance Program of the San Juan City Government, through the SJMC-SSD.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the authority, issuance and approval hereof is subject to certain restrictions and to all existing laws, circulars, rules and regulations.
