WHEREAS, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) of San Juan convened and mutually agreed to formulate the revised Local Contingency Plan for Earthquake of the City of San Juan with the emphasis of Emerging and Re-Emerging Disease (EREID) measure;

WHEREAS, the City of San Juan is at risk to the effects of natural hazards, thus, its constituents just like in any other cities in Metro Manila are considered to be increasingly vulnerable to the threats of natural disasters due to numerous factors;

WHEREAS, if there is an actual impact of hazards, it is imperative to institutionalize measures, policies, plans and programs of the City Government to ensure proper disaster response of the city;

WHEREAS, the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP) fulfills the requirement of R.A. No. 10121 of 2010, which provides the legal basis for policies, plans and programs to deal with disasters.The LDRRMP covers four thematic areas, namely:1.) Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; 2.) Disaster Preparedness; 3.) Disaster Response; and 4.) Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery, which correspond to the structure of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC);

WHEREAS, NDRRMC Memorandum No. 57, Series of 2020, reiterates the inclusion of Emerging and Re-Emerging Disease (EREID) in the said plan amidst the ongoing Public Health Emergency;

WHEREAS, this Contingency Plan shall be approved and declared as the Local Contigency Plan for Earthquake of the City of San Juan.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of San Juan, Metro Manila in a session duly assembled, do hereby ADOPTS and APPROVES the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Resolution No. 6, Series of 2022 approving the revised Local Contingency Plan for Earthquake of the City of San Juan with the emphasis of Emerging and Re-Emerging Disease (EREID) measure.
