WHEREAS, Section 2 of Republic Act No. 10066, otherwise known as the “National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009,” mandates the protection, preservation, conservation and promotion of the nation’s cultural heritage, its property and histories, and the ethnicity of local communities. Specifically, Sections 14(b) and (c) of the said Act requires local government units to establish and maintain an inventory of cultural property while Section 16 of this Act directs them to document and preserve the traditional and contemporary arts present within its jurisdiction;
WHEREAS, under Republic Act No. 10066, otherwise known as the "The National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009, the local government units, through their cultural offices, shall maintain an inventory of cultural properties under its jurisdiction and shall furnish the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) a copy of the same;
WHEREAS, pursuant to DILG-NCCA Joint Memorandum Circular 2021-001 or the “Amended Guidelines on the Standardized Submission of Local Cultural Inventory (LCI) under the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) for the Issuance of Certificate of Compliance (COC) to Local Government Units (LGUs);
WHEREAS, the purpose of the said joint memorandum is to discuss the standards and guidelines for the preparation of LCI and to provide the procedures on the submission and rules of evaluation of the LCI;
WHEREAS, as the Local Government Unit, we shall facilitate the preparation of the LCI and the endorsement of the to the Local Sanggunian for its adoption/recognition as the official inventory of cultural properties. It shall likewise endeavor to meet the standards of an acceptable and compliant inventory to comprehensively document its cultural properties to further promote their preservation, promotion and protection;
WHEREAS, the country's artistic and historic wealth constitutes as cultural treasure of the nation and shall be under the protection of the State;
WHEREAS, the Department of the interior and Local Government (DILG) and the NCCA issued Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01, otherwise known as the "Local Inventory of Cultural Property as required under Republic Act No. 10066", enjoining the local chief executives to maintain a local inventory of all cultural property within their jurisdiction;
WHEREAS, The NCCA issued Board Resolution No. 2017-330, entitled "Guidelines Governing the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) requiring the local cultural database to be accompanied with a Sanggunian resolution or ordinance recognizing it as the local inventory.
WHEREAS, the San Juan City Tourism Department, as of December 2022, created and prepared a list of identified historical sites, landmarks and cultural resources and properties within the jurisdiction of San Juan City and were listed as follows:

WHEREAS, a brief description of each historical and cultural site identified is attached as Annex A.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN, METRO MANILA, BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, IN SESSION DULY ASSEMBLED, to recognize the official list of identified Historical and Cultural Sites in San Juan City City, as prepared and certified by the San Juan City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to all agencies concerned.
