WHEREAS, General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 allocated P 21,361,029,000.00 to the Department of Health for the assistance to Indigent Patients;
WHEREAS, the DOH-MMCHD as an office of the DOH has been providing financial assistance to hospitals for the provision of hospitalization expenses such as drugs and medicines, medical procedures, confinement of other patient care services of indigent patients;
WHEREAS, the DOH-MMCHD is authorized to enter into a MOA with the City Government of San Juan pursuant to Administrative Order No. 2020-0060 dated December 23, 2020 “Revised Guidelines on the Implementation of the MAIP Program”;
WHEREAS, the City Government of San Juan is willing to participate in the efficient and effective grant of medical assistance to indigent and poor patient at the San Juan Medical Center;
WHEREAS, the DOH-MMCHD allocated the amount of Ten Million Pesos (P10,000,000.00) to the City Government of San Juan as per Sub-Allotment Advice No. 22-01-0066 dated January 26, 2022 for the provision of approved medical assistance to its eligible patients;
WHEREAS, the City Legal Officer has certified that the MOA is in order and not contrary to existing laws, rules and regulations;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED,BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN, AND BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, in a session duly assembled, to authorize the City Mayor Francisco Javier M. Zamora, to enter into a MOA with DOH-MMCHD for the implementation of the MAIP Program with an allocation amount of Ten Million Pesos (P10,000,000.00) as per Sub-Allotment Advice No. 2022-01-0066 dated January 26, 2022;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the authority, issuance and approval hereof is subject to certain restrictions and to all existing laws, circulars, rules and regulations.
