July 14, 2023 Biking enthusiasts from all over Metro Manila gathered together for the 2023 Freedom Cycle Event held by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manila, in cooperation with San Juan City Government. The event, which took place last June 9 is aimed to promote fitness, environmental conservation, and community solidarity. More than 500 bikers, from all walks of life, participated in the event. They cycled through some of the city's most scenic routes, including the Greenhills Shopping Center, Santolan Road, and Wilson Street. The event was not a race, but rather a fun and exciting way for participants to enjoy biking while promoting a healthy lifestyle and advocating for a greener environment. Mayor Francis Zamora also expressed his support for the event, saying that it aligns with the city government's efforts to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. "San Juan City is committed to promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for our residents, we are proud to support this event and hope that it inspires more people to take up biking as a means of transportation and recreation," Mayor Zamora said. “The 2023 Freedom Cycle Event was a fun and exciting way for participants to come together for a common goal - to achieve a healthy mind and body while promoting environmental conservation and solidarity,” said Councilor Don Allado who also actively participated in the event. JCI Manila and San Juan City hoped that this event will inspire more people to take up biking and become advocates for a healthy and sustainable future.
